In the internet world you have blogging and then you have microblogging. At first glance one might think this is a smaller version of a blog, and in some ways it is.

Microblogging, in its original concept, is a blog that allows bite sized snippet or phrases to be placed on it for quick informational purposes. Maybe one example of this would be the site know as Twitter. Here you can write 140 character snippets which have a link to a bigger blog.

In a corporate sense a microblog system could be an internal messaging system where quick little messages are sent to a list of employees when needed. This allows participants to get real time messages out without having the burden of going through the steps of posting to a blog.

Whether it is in a social networking environment or in a corporate situation, microblogging has found its place in both. As these platforms become more widely used you will see a much smoother interface for users to use, and companies will find more ways to incorporate their marketing skills in these microblooging platforms.

If you haven’t dipped you toe into twitter or the likes, give it a try and see how you like it.

A lot of people have blogs. You yourself probably have a blog if you are reading this. One of the problems that bloggers must solve is how to get traffic to your blog. It is not that hard or complicated. There are many different avenues that you can use in order to get traffic to your blog.

One way you can increase traffic is through commenting on other blogs and link back to your site in the URL field. You just have to make sure that the blog is related to your blog. Don’t make any spam comments like “nice post.” These would not get you views and that type of comment will not pass moderation in most cases.

You can also participate in social networks. You can make friends and then share your blog with them in order to get more views. Social networks are often great sources of traffic for your blog. Many people recommend social networks as a way to gain traffic.

Other effective ways to bring traffic to your site include article marketing, guest blogging and forum marketing. Just don’t forget to keep adding content to your blog. Bringing traffic to your blog is actually very simple once you figure out the methods and avenues that you can use.Keep looking, there’s more: Do You Want To Make Money Blogging And Selling Affiliate Products?

The easiest way to make your blog show up in search engines is to send a link to your post. The only requirement is that the link you send is dofollow. A website or blog that is not itself indexed will not do your own site any good. The Internet runs on links. The search engines travel from page to page and site to sit via the network of links that are in place. As the search engine spiders travel through a site that links to your own it discovers and indexes your blog.I found some more information here. Increasing the number of links to your site increases the probability is that the spiders will find your new content.

For me to say, “go get a link” is simple enough. Figuring out where to get them is something else entirely. There are a huge number of places available for a webmaster to place links. These include social bookmarking sites, multi-author sites and other people’s blogs. The world of the Internet is ever changing and choosing the right places for your links is important. The quality that is required for your links has increased dramatically over the last few years. Choosing the best and most relevant links that you can find will get your site indexed and keep it that way.
